SDG 3: The Heart of Sustainable Development
07/07/2025Awareness of SDG 3: Good Health and Well-being
“Ensuring healthy lives and promoting well-being for all at all ages”
🔹 What is SDG 3?
SDG 3 is one of the 17 Sustainable Development Goals established by the United Nations in 2015, aiming to ensure healthy lives and promote well-being for everyone, at every stage of life. It recognizes that good health is essential to sustainable development and builds upon major progress made in increasing life expectancy and reducing common health threats worldwide.
🔹 Why is SDG 3 Important?
Health is the foundation of development. Without good health, individuals cannot learn, work, or thrive. SDG 3 targets not only the reduction of mortality and disease but also the improvement of mental health, access to essential healthcare services, and health education. It also emphasizes universal health coverage (UHC), access to safe medicines and vaccines, and preparedness for health emergencies.
🔹 Key Targets of SDG 3
- Reduce maternal mortality and end preventable deaths of newborns and children under 5
- End epidemics of AIDS, tuberculosis, malaria, and neglected tropical diseases
- Ensure access to essential healthcare services and medicines
- Promote mental health and well-being
- Strengthen the capacity for early warning, risk reduction, and management of health risks
🔹 SDG 3 and the Faculty of Integrative Medicine
The Faculty of Integrative Medicine, RMUTT, places SDG 3 at the core of its mission. Through the integration of modern and traditional healthcare knowledge, the Faculty promotes preventive care, holistic health, and community well-being. Students and researchers are encouraged to contribute to SDG 3 through innovative health solutions, ethical medical practices, and outreach programs that support underserved populations.
🔹 How You Can Support SDG 3
- Adopt a healthy lifestyle – Eat well, exercise regularly, and avoid harmful habits
- Get involved – Participate in community health campaigns or volunteer with health organizations
- Spread awareness – Educate others about health risks, prevention, and mental well-being
- Support innovation – Encourage research in sustainable, affordable healthcare and natural products
- Advocate for policy – Support universal healthcare and inclusive access to health services
🔹 Together for a Healthier Future
Awareness is the first step toward action. At the Faculty of Integrative Medicine, we believe that health is not just the absence of disease—but a dynamic state of complete physical, mental, and social well-being. Let’s work together to make health and well-being a reality for all, leaving no one behind.
